Movie Review - Ghajini

Before I begin, I just want to say that Aamir has given a mind-blowing performance in this movie.

I won't go into the low down as you can find that anywhere on the net, just a brief overview. Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan) is in love with an aspiring model called Kalpana (Asin, who is quite credible in her role) in Mumbai. She is an innocent do-gooder Amelie kind of girl, helping all those around her she can. This gets her into trouble with a dangerous gangster involved in slave trade of young village girls, who ultimately has her killed. Sanjay reaches the scene when its too late; the woman he loves is brutally murdered in front of his eyes, and the murderer doesnt spare him either. He gives Sanjay a blow to his head that causes him to have short term memory loss, and from then on his memory only spans 15 minutes.

The only thing he remembers is that he must find Ghajini, the murderer of Kalpana, the name she whispered in his ear before she was murdered. Aamir sets out to do that by taking polaroid pictures of people he meets, and writing numbers and names everywhere that remind him that he has to find Ghajini and kill him.

This is a unique plot and although the movie is over three hours long, it is paced quickly so that you find yourself on the edge of your seat most of the time. However, watch only if you can stomach all the gore and violence! Aamir doens't really have a lot of dialogues in the movie, but it is perfectly suited to his role, which he delivers with confidence. A must watch for all Aamir fans! I'm giving it four out of five stars. ****/*****
