The True Story from 1990 that Got Buried, that Nobody Told

On the 22nd anniversary of the Ethnic Cleansing of the Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley, we would do good to spare a few minutes reading one of the untold stories of India's present, ie. today. The acts described in the following essay took place while most of us were already alive, in the late 1980's and early 1990. This is, without doubt, one of the greatest tragedies of modern times, and certainly the most tragic story in the modern history of India.

The once beautiful state that derives its name from Maharishi Kashyap, one of the greatest saints of Hinduism, Kashmir today has been reduced to penury. Inhabited by violent, murderous, jihadist bigots, Kashmir today is nothing like the heaven on earth professed by people from around the globe once upon a time. Turn on the TV today, and you see perpetually angry 'Kashmiri' youth, accessorized with Palestinian scarves, pelting stones, carrying guns, protesting, burning flags, and often - killing people. This, unfortunately, is what Kashmir has become today.

And, more scarily for most of us, what India will become if the current 'government' has its way.
